Police State Of Mind of the Day: So this is basically what went down: A friend was visiting the camera-phone novice who lives on the corner of Claver Place and Putnam Avenue in Brooklyn.
He rode his bike on the sidewalk to the front door, which in NYC is a no-no. The popo showed up and gave the friend a $150 fine, at which point a passer-by engaged him in some convivial chitchat concerning his plight. An NYPD officer felt the passerby shouldn’t be fraternizing with the friend, and told him to “mind your own business.” The passerby responded with “I wasn’t even talking to you,” and things quickly took a turn for the backup.
